The artist name is actually Maejima Tadaaki, he used Haku Maki as his name on his art pieces. This piece is a very desirable work for Haku Maki. This is from his Persimmon series, some of his most desirable, which he made from 1971 to 1981.
This is I believe the largest piece of the series, most are much smaller. It is full sheet 12 9/16" by 18 3/8" and the image is 10 7/8" by 16 3/4". This piece is pencil signed in lower right margin, has 81-31 in center margin, which is the date 81 and the 31st piece of the series. It has the edition of 20/190 in the left margin. Also has his red seal in the lower right. CONDITION: very good, very rich deep color, no scratches, no tears etc. The deep embossing is crisp and masterfully done. The reverse has some foxing.
The frame is a simple black frame with a mat. Haku Maki was fairly prolific but large pieces from this series are not common.
