There are small wrinkles and traces of peeling off paper on the square on the back. Prints printed after the author's death using original woodblocks of the time.

Born in Hamamatsu in 1870, died in 1949. He became a disciple of Kiyochika Kobayashi in 1884, and from then until 1902 he trained as a family apprentice in painting and ukiyo-e.

In 1932 he met Shozaburo Watanabe, who encouraged him to paint Shin-hanga. In 1936, he released his representative work "Tokyo Scenery Series (Twelve Figures)", which is regarded as a masterpiece of landscape painting of Shin-hanga along with Kawase Hasui's "Twenty Views of Tokyo". It was built in 1603 by Tokugawa Ieyasu as a lodging when he went to Kyoto. Please be sure to read the condition description for product details.
